Is it the precious blue planet we call home, so majestic and yet so fragile? Is it that one blue note that the Jazz trumpeter plays, the one in which he pours all his heartbreak? Did you know that in the German language "being blue" means being drunk, but "making blue" means skipping school? Tell us what "the Big Blue" is to you!

The rules of the contest are:

Your entry must be a new render, especially made for this challenge.

Your entry must follow the DAZ TOS.

You may enter a maximum of 4 entries.

A minimum of five (5) Freebies must be included in your image

All Daz Bi-Weekly Freebies are allowed throughout the entire month in which they are free, as well as the following month (for a total of 2 months).

You may use a maximum of 5 paid items.

Base figures (Genesis 9, Genesis 8, etc.) as well as their basic morph packs may be used as needed. They do not count as either paid items or freebies.

DAZ Studio, Poser, Bryce, Carrara, Hexagon, and Blender are allowed.

DAZ AI Studio is not allowed. The use of image generating AI technology (midjourney, stable diffusion, etc.) is not allowed in any form.

Postwork is allowed. You must also include the raw render (before postwork) of your entry.

The Big Blue
The Big Blue reminds me of a 1988 film by Luc Besson that tells the fictionalized story of two true freediving champions, friends and sporting rivals, who fought for many years for the record, sometimes one winning, sometimes the other, to hold the title. The two champions are Frenchman Jacques Mayol and Italian Enzo Maiorca, who in the film is called Enzo Molinari. The two freedivers competed between 1966 and 1988 and both surpassed the 100-meter freediving limit.

I am SOOO sorry this is so late, I had a ridiculous amount of issues with it and had to keep rerendering it over and over (and I'm on a mac, so that takes almost overnight)
The Cerulean King
Not to be confused with “The Lion King” ;)
This one ended up becoming a personal challenge to use Geometry Editor as much as possible in one render XD I feel like the Geometry Editor doesn’t get enough attention, it’s an amazing helper built right into DAZ Studio. I couldn’t find what I wanted to use to make this image, so I grabbed a bunch of different freebies, and used that to make them fit my idea. For instance, I separated the “Lucina” armor into multiple material zones so that I could adjust the materials of each piece the way I wanted to. I also used the delete tool to remove large pieces of it entirely, so that I could kitbash them more effectively, without worrying about a whole lot of pokethrough. So a lot of the freebies I used might not be immediately recognizable, but anyone could do the exact same thing as I did without spending a penny on any new scripts or tools, and it’s a fun way to get more milage out of the freebies we download!!!
